SAHIWAL: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Ziaullah Khan on Saturday handed down 31-year imprisonment to a member of the banned outfit Fitnatul Khwarij (TTP).

Reports said Zubair Gandhapur was arrested during a sting operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on March 12, 2025 at Village 19/SP Chowk, Depalpur Road, Pakpattan.

He is a resident of Mohalla Kamal Khel, Tehsil Kolachi, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At the time of his arrest, CTD recovered 1,699 grams of explosive material, a Prima Cord, detonators, an iron box, 9V dry batteries, short-circuit wiring, cash and other electronic devices.

The CTD Sahiwal registered a first information report against Zubair under Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Act, 1908, and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997, based on a complaint filed by Hasan Raza.
