As US Vice President J.D. Vance prepares for his official visit to India, a Sikh group known of championing the Khalistan movement has raised serious concerns over the Modi regime.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and a prominent Khalistan advocate, has penned a letter to Vance urging him to address the alleged Indian plot to assassinate him.
In the letter, Pannun accused a close aide of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of paying $250,000 to orchestrate his killing and urged the US vice president to confront Indian authorities on the matter.
“The Modi government is involved in a conspiracy to kill a US citizen. This is not just a personal threat, it’s a threat to American sovereignty and justice,” Pannun stated in a letter, which was also posted to SFJ’s official X account.
He demanded that any trial regarding the attempted murder of an American citizen should take place under US laws in American courts.
The allegations come amid increasing global scrutiny over India’s role in attacks on Sikh activists abroad, following similar claims made in the US and Canada over the past year.
