QUETTA: The Balochistan Election Tribunal has upheld the victory of JUI-F candidate Mir Zabit Reki as MPA from PB-131 Washuk.

The tribunal, headed by Justice Abdullah Baloch, made the decision on Monday after hearing the petition filed by Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hasni against his rival’s victory.

The tribunal rejected Mr Hasni’s petition — which had alleged rigging in the election — citing a lack of evidence to support the claims.

The judge noted that the petitioner and his lawyer failed to appear on several occasions to present their case regarding allegations of rigging.

As a result, the tribunal confirmed Mr election as a member of the Balochistan Assembly.

Mr Reki was represented by lawyers Kamran Murtaza, Qazi Najeeb and Baloch Khan during the proceedings.
