CHINIOT: District Police Officer (DPO) Abdullah Ahmad has taken disciplinary action against Lalian police officials after a TikTok video surfaced, in which three murder suspects are seen meeting friends inside a police lock-up.

Moharrar Safdar Ali and Naib Moharrar Imran Zubair have been suspended from service, while Station House Officer Aftab Afzal has been charge-sheeted.

The video uploaded online shows suspects Ghulam Razzak of Thatta Mohlan, Faisal Bashir of Salolka, and Bilal Hassan of Sangra Sadat interacting with visitors inside the lock-up as police officials appeared using their mobile phones.

They were arrested for the murder of Abdullah. The incident occurred on Nov 27 in a park in Lalian town, where Abdullah was tortured and shot dead. An FIR was registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Muhammad Nadeem.

The DPO has also ordered an inquiry into the incident.

PFA: A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team raided a pulses packing unit in Chiniot, uncovering 305 kilograms of contaminated products.

The seized items included 250 kilo coriander and 55 kilo powders mixed with banned chemicals and colours. The PFA confiscated the adulterated products.

ARRESTED: The organised crime unit arrested two people transporting 225 bottles of imported liquor in a loader rickshaw.

The police intercepted the vehicle and arrested suspects Abdul Razzak and Rajeesh. The city police have registered a case and initiated investigations into the illegal trade.
